Sunrise after a thunderstorm

What promise does this day bring forth? My heart desires to ask as i have awoken today to a symphony.

A bulbul call from a distant high branch, complimented by a pair of koyals singing away pulls me to the verandah.

Thats all I can distinguish amongst the plethora of sounds. I know there are songbirds, prinias, bee eaters and sunbirds who have built their nests in the several branches visible from my window.

They seem to be happy just as myself after the last night’s deluge. Their melody is sweet. There is a sense of excitement. As if saying ” finally! The monsoons are here”.

The neighboring gulmohur seems to extend its arms as if coming out from deep slumber. Its leaves refreshed and pure. It’s flowers vibrant.

The silver oak and the coupling eucalyptus have rendered the air sweet with its aroma.

The neem, the bamboo and all others seem to say hurray as they make their presence felt.

Oh ! There you are almighty Sun. I watch your radiant form as it peeks from behind the clouds and slowly rises above the silhouette of the coconut tree. I feel blessed on this day in your virgin presence which is complemented by last nights outpour and thunderstorm. I am drenched today instead standing in your glorious presence as I am reminded of your grace and your omnipotence.
